Perspective: the Friend Edition

My last post, I spoke about keeping my dating world in perspective, but I ended talking about the Boy (I really feel like I should find a new nickname for him since he has expressed immense displeasure with that nickname…Hmmm… I’ll think on it). Seems he usually ends up being a part of things on here, and so I’ve been thinking about why that is exactly.

What is it about him that makes me fixate on him so much? And why is it so important that he be in my life?

And what does that mean for the other people in my life?

Bieber grew up?

I’ve never paid much attention to Justin Bieber, other than to point and giggle when I saw some teenage girl doodle his name on her paper. Never to the girl’s face, of course, but Justin Bieber is not someone I would ever think of as being sexy…

Back to writing…

So, I dropped the ball on NaNoWriMo a bit. My social life and work life got in the way. But I’m back to it now. This will be a short post so I can get back to work on my NaNoWriMo project, but I wanted to give you all a link to my Tablo site so you could check it out for yourself.

It’s still a work in progress, and it’s not my best work… but it’s not my worst work either. Just remember, it is a NaNoWriMo project, which means it’s pretty much just a rough draft. I’m trying really hard not to go back and edit as I write, so while comments are appreciated, please don’t talk to me about grammar until after November.

Here’s a brief synopsis:

Nera Attwater has come home for the first time in ten years to find her father murdered, her mother missing, and her ex still pining away for her. Amidst the chaos of the funeral, her aunts drop in, quite literally, to let her know that she’s a harpy, and she better get control of her gifts before she ends up with a wake of dead bodies behind her, too.

And here’s a link to my Tablo site so you can check it out for yourself: The Secrets of Seashells.

NaNoWriMo has begun!

This will be a short post, as I’ve already posted today, and I do have to work on lesson plans (since my team leader just posted them at 7pm on a Sunday… grumble, grumble). I just wanted to announce to the world that I am again doing NaNoWriMo, and as my story has completely morphed into something new, I might, just might share it. Continue reading NaNoWriMo has begun!
