Goodbye 2019. Hello 2020!
And Happy New Year from Just Add Tea!!
Welcome to the new look of this site!
There are a few changes around here, the biggest being that there won’t be any more romance posts from here on out.
For those of you who don’t know me very well, I am a teacher. There have only ever been two things I wanted to do with my life: teach and write. While I needed the catharsis of some of the older romance posts, they are not congruent with what is expected of a teacher.
Remember the teacher who got fired for what she did over Spring Break? While in another COUNTRY?
I don’t need that kind of heat.
Like I said, teaching and writing are the only things I’ve ever really wanted to do.
So 2020 brings a lot of changes, changes that 2019 helped to bring about. I’ve decided 2019 was the year I found my way:
- I found a teaching position at a district that is absolutely amazing!
- I bought a car (new to me) that is in my name, unlike the last one, which was in my Dad’s name.
- I found a diet and workout regimen that worked…for a time, I have to get back on track with my schedule in 2020.
- Most importantly, I found a way to actually like myself.
So what does 2020 have in store for this site?
It will be more focused on my teaching life for one thing. Teaching is what brought me to blogging in the first place, though in the beginning, it was anonymous and was solely for venting. Now we’ve come full circle.
I don’t want to just focus on my teaching.
One of my goals for 2020 is to read and write more. I’ve been so focused on the story of my own life, that I’ve let the stories living in me take the back burner. Plus, I’ve not read much this year. I fell a good dozen or more books short of my Goodreads goal, and, while I’ve made lots of notes on the novel I started working on years ago, I still haven’t finished it.
Though I’ve got a well developed outline.
I suppose I should seeing how long I’ve worked on it!
So, this year we’ll see teaching, writing, and reviews on Just Add Tea.
On a similar note, I’ll be hosting the first #JustAddTea Twitter chat of 2020 this Sunday, January 5th, on setting our intentions for 2020.
If you’re a writer, maybe you’ll join us. And if not, that’s ok; I hope you’ll stick around and see what 2020 brings!
